Stephen Horney, Physical Therapist
Stephen Horney prides himself on combining extensive clinical physical therapy knowledge with his own experiences as an athlete to effectively treat his patients. He has worked with a broad spectrum of patients ranging from weekend marathon runners to professional athletes and always keeps the focus on searching for the cause of the dysfunction instead of simply trying to reduce symptoms. Stephen specializes in the assessment and treatment of athletes with the ultimate goals of helping them become pain free and less susceptible to injury in the future. He works with each of his patients to help them understand the root cause of their pain, which often results from improper positioning while at rest – such as stressful body ergonomics at a work station or poor sleeping postures. Working with patients one-on-one, Stephen provides personalized techniques to correct these problems, helping them to live beyond their injury. Stephen graduated from an accelerated Masters Program at Quinnipiac University and is currently working towards his manual certification and Doctorate of Physical Therapy through the University of St. Augustine. While at Quinnipiac University, Stephen was captain of his rugby team. He currently plays for the Old Blue Rugby Football Club, where he has also worked as a trainer for the club’s SuperLeague. « back |
