NY SportsMed (NYSM) has partnered with the nonprofit organization, Back on My Feet (BoMF) to host injury prevention and assessment workshops for the organization’s coaches and volunteers. The workshops focus on preventing and identifying common running injuries, proper stretching, and innovative techniques for beginner runners. NY SportsMed has helped to elevate the BoMF organization’s running program by providing a new level of expertise for their coaches and team leaders. Physical therapists from NY SportsMed will also perform onsite injury assessments during some of the group’s scheduled runs throughout New York City. “I cannot thank the NY SportsMed team enough for the wonderful program the staff put on for the volunteers of Back on My Feet. They were not only extremely informative but they took all the time that we asked for in answering our questions and explaining things to us, “stated BoMF Program Director, Mishka Vertin.

“Teaming up with Back on My Feet is an honor for NY SportsMed. We are happy to lend a hand to such an incredible cause, “stated Teela Depena, Marketing Director at NY SportsMed. NY SportsMed has a staff of well-trained physical therapists and trainers who lead active lifestyles. Their practical knowledge and education allows them to treat patients of all sorts, from moderately active people to professional athletes. They tailor medical programs to address a variety of conditions including industrial and workplace injuries, chronic medical conditions, and many other musculoskeletal injuries. Recently, NYSM launched its Running Club, which helps recovering runners resume activity safely, under the expert supervision of their physical therapists. Working with the BoMF organization is an ideal partnership and an excellent way for NYSM to share its expertise with an underserved community.
